‘Kantara’ created history in Indian cinema for its powerful content. The story was set in three time periods- the 1840s, 1970s, and 1990s. Rishab Shetty’s detailing of the story of Daiva Boota’s history was very intense, arresting the audience. The real stories set in rural Karnataka and their cultural history caught the attention of audiences across the world reminding them of their cultural background and ancestors’ stories in their native places.
